Photography
Observational wedding photography shaped around people, atmosphere and the unfolding story of the day.
Wedding photography has evolved alongside photography itself, from the formal studio portraits of the 19th century to a more immediate and spontaneous way of recording the day. As cameras became smaller and faster, photographers were able to move beyond the posed portrait and document the ceremony, the guests and the unexpected moments around them.
My own approach follows this documentary tradition. I prefer to observe rather than direct, looking for gestures, relationships, tensions and quiet moments that reveal something beyond the expected image of a wedding. The aim is not simply to make beautiful photographs, but to create a visual memory of what actually happened—and of how it felt to be there.
